2 weeks left - "I'm panicking" is an understatement!

It's been one helluva week down here with the preparations, shopping and so much to take in! Having spoken to my trip organisers about what to bring etc, I've had to delve into my savings to buy essentials. It's been fun I must say! There are so many things I didn't know about or never would have thought about if it were not for this climb, but I took it all in with a huge grin on my face!

I've bought a sleeping bag suitable for temperatures of -10degrees Celsius and below, waterproof outdoor jacket, waterproof trousers, these massive gloves I wouldn't wear on a normal cold day, breathable thermal pants and the like! The only thing left on my kit is perhaps my boots which I already have - I simply need to wear them out so they're comfortable when I climb. The only problem is, I don't even have time to break into my boots because of work and preparations! But I've got no need to panic, there's still 8 weeks until the climb!

With just 2 weeks to go, I've already started packing so I won't forget anything - which is my deepest fear at the moment. I really want to get this right! Lastly, thank you for your support and for those who've already donated even though I haven't climbed yet. I really, really appreciate it and I shall think of you all while I'm hanging on Uhuru peak, with a huge smile on my face despite the physically draining climb! More to come soon!

Xx
