The excitement!

It's been a hectic week this week! I've realised how lately my life is mostly spent at work, working out or sleeping! This week hasn't been very different from the previous. With only 4 weeks to go, I'm starting to feel the pressure mounting on me as I rush to get one thing done or the other.

On Monday while at work, I had a bit of an accident with a heavy fire hazard door crushing my arm. Fortunately, nothing drastic happened (no fractures), however my bone was badly bruised which means even now as I type I'm having to use my rather useless left hand. That's been a major set back as I've missed two days of work and other work out sessions. On the positive side, I got to work mostly on my tummy and abs (which is completely irrelevant to my climb but to my personal fitness in general), and also thighs.

On Monday I also received my volunteer t-shirt from Gap Guru, the company I'm going with, and soon I shall be receiving a "pre-departure information pack" to make me even more nervous! I've done so much to prepare myself for this trip and I must say, I'm both physically and mentally prepared. I do believe there's more work to be done both ways, but at this stage I can comfortably say I can climb that mountain and down with only a few more than the normal troubles along the way (altitude sickness and the like). I've also bought a thermal face mask to wear when temperatures drop the higher we climb. So my climbing gear is pretty much sorted!

Today I just went to shop for final things and most importantly, a CAMCORDER! I'm going to need that to record the climb and other spectacular moments which I will undoubtedly encounter! To say I'm excited is an understatement, I can't even find the proper word to describe it!

Overall, it's been a great week and I'm excited as I count down the days left for my adventure to begin! Watch this space for more...

Xx
